Fitted as standard in some countries, but amazingly rare in the U.K, chimney dampers can save you money, as well as
making your home more comfortable, and reducing your impact on the environment.

If you have a large inglenook fireplace, with a correspondingly large flue, you may be sending hundreds of cubic
Metres of lovely warm air up the chimney, out of your home, and into the atmosphere all the time.

A chimney top damper can vastly reduce this loss. Suitable for large, straight flues, they are controllable from the
fireplace via a stainless steel cable. They do need to be made to measure, so first line up a sure footed installer, and ask
him to measure the top of the stack inside and out.

The Oxfordshire client who's home features here is over the moon with the difference this has made to his winter
comfort and fuel bills. I also retro fitted dampers to two canopies in his other fireplaces.
