Blog Continued
February 2010
O.k. Let's start with the traditional apology for having neglected the blog /website again! The longer I leave it
more scared I am to do it in case this is the time I wipe the whole website of the internet, and have to start again
from scratch.....some might say that'd be a good thing!

As ever it's been all go here at the forge, ploughing ahead with the floral railing commission in Middlesex (4
panels down, 5 to go) and in between I've been making and fitting window bars, ballustrades, lingerie brackets (!)
dog kennels, and all kinds of other bits and bobs.

Newest tool in the workshop is a hydraulic punch which will pierce up to 10mm flat steel for the horizontal bars
of fabricated gates, fences and railings, and should save a lot of time and effort compared to drilling (especially
square holes!) Also saves on the wastage as it deposits a neat little plug in the scrap bin instead of swarf all over
me, and the floor.

When I finally get around to a revamp of the site, I should have some good photos of myself at work after a visit
from a professional photographer a couple of weeks ago. I also enjoyed a visit from Tim Wheeler of BBC Three
Counties radio for an interview/feature which was broadcast a while ago.

Today's been pretty unproductive - meant to spend a couple of hours in the office first thing in the morning, and
haven't got out yet as the light starts to fade outside!

I've got most of the parts for the fifth floral panel forged and ready for assembly, so will hope to get that done
next week, and maybe make a start on no.6 depending on how other little loose ends get tied up!
