Blog.....
July/August '09: And once again I find myself writing this belatedly, and in a rush (and for the second time,
having just accidentally deleted the last attempt). I should be preparing photos for the Winslow Show, which is only a
couple of days away, but I'm uncomfortably aware that I've neglected the website of late...and talking of website
maintenance, there's a few photos not showing at the moment, and I haven't yet worked out why, so please bear with
me!
Last couple of weeks have been spent in Equador, where we attended a friend's wedding in the mountains outside
Quito, and the Galapagos where we attended some less formal mating rituals!
We got back from holiday to be told our Irish Terrier, Molly was at the vets on a drip, and in big trouble.....
Glad to say she's a lot better now, although we, and the vets, are still fairly mystified as to the cause of her sudden
illness.
As always it's tough getting back under the yoke..and I seem to have several lingering jobs on at the moment that I
can't quite seem to get completed despite being frustratingly close. I badly need to get them out of the way and paid
for so I can focus on new work and the endless stream of complicated quotes that fill what used to be my spare time
(Sorry. Having a grumpy morning!)

September '09: Onwards and upwards ! Aforementioned lingering jobs out of the way AND paid for ! The
ongoing battle to take more money than I spend on tools and equipment goes on. Have just ordered new dies for
the power hammer from the states...sadly even with carriage, and the damned tax man's pound of flesh, still
cheaper than getting them made here.

The fireplace season's here, and I've got a canopy to fit on Monday in a Gloucestershire Manor House, also a little
flurry of burnt out fire grates to attend to amongst the other little repair jobs. Have an exciting commission for
20 metres of hand forged fence panels in Middlesex which I'm hoping to get started on soon....so I'll be off to buy
another load of coke to keep the forge burning in the near future....I shudder to think what it's going to cost this
time !
