Blog Continued.....
August '08: The "downturn" continues, with another month of fewer than usual enquiries - although
August can be slow just because so many people are on holiday... and in the last couple of days the phone
has started to ring again, and I've got many surveys and quotes to attend to.

The Winslow Show went well, and was, as usual, a pleasant sociable day, with lots of chat, a few sales, and a
shedload of business cards handed out. One little boy even picked up a card and asked me how much they
were ! (I did him a deal!)

My IRON MAN Sculpture was one of the stars of the show: you can see him at the For Sale section of the
site by clicking here.

The evil spectre of development on the arable land behind the forge is once again looming. The developers,
Greenway are now calling themselves "Winslow Green" and have added a little greenwash and flim flam to
their proposal to turn a sizeable chunk of our precious countryside into a building site for ten years while
they cover it in modern housing and Industrial units. Don't be fooled by the latest bunny hugging , kiddy
friendly spin folks.... they care nothing for the environment or the local community - It's about one thing..
Money and lots of it for people who've already got rich destroying our landscape. Even the government
wasn't buying their bid for an "eco town", and now they've repackaged their original scheme using some of
the ecotown propaganda they dreamt up while trying to circumnavigate the planning process.

The "derelict airfield" they wish to build on is largely arable land just about ready for the harvest as we speak.
We barely have enough arable land currently to feed our already overpopulated country/planet.

Click here to see the land in question (The once beautiful view already somewhat marred by the recent
erection of large white industrial units)....

And here to go to the "Winslow Green" website and register your dissaproval. They have only given the
latest "consultation process" 'till September 5th I understand so do it quick!
Sorry for the rant.., anyway it looks like I'm soon going to be busy making fireplace canopies - it's that
time of year again! Experimented with a little pattern welding recently - to see the knife I made by
firewelding motorcycle chain together click here.
